How to Help after the Hurricane
Tuesday, August 29, 2017
Joe

As we watched all of the news of Hurricane Harvey hitting the Texas coast, we have been praying for the homes, and businesses, and schools, and hospitals, and pets, and livestock, etc. that have been affected. And most of all, we have been praying for the people who have been affected by this storm in life-changing ways. We continue to pray for those in need, and we thank God for the evidences we have already seen of his grace and mercy at work even in the midst of such devastation.

While we continue to pray, now we are asking "what else can we do?" This is a great question. And as you know, the answer to this question changes as quickly as the situations we are responding to. After contacting several other pastors in our presbytery who each have their finger on the pulse of the situation, they are in agreement that the best things we can do for now are to pray and to give financially to established relief agencies. Our ECO denomination has partnered with World Renew as one such agency.

Please continue to pray for all those affected by this storm. Please pray for the relief workers as well. We will keep you posted as the answer to "what else can we do?" changes. In the meantime, please consider donating to World Renew.
